We're two creatives who decided the world had enough perfectly posed, over-edited, suspiciously symmetrical content, and not nearly enough of the real thing. So we built The Archives Studios. We chase moments. We archive memories. We also argue about lens choices, but that's between us.
You'll find us laughing a lot, usually at ourselves. We're here to make you feel at ease, and the jokes are free. You can tip us in giggles.
Think of us as the guests who happen to have cameras. We stay close, follow the day as it unfolds, and catch the nervous laughs, the happy mess, and the elegant pauses in between. Every now and then we'll step in with a small suggestion, like "let's use that light" or "take a breath, you two." No stiff poses and no scripts, just a little help when it's useful. Your wedding doesn't have to look like anyone else's, and the photos won't either.
Whether you're getting married in Calgary, Canmore, Banff, or somewhere in between, we'll be there with our cameras, our questionable snack choices, and a genuine love for the messy, the funny, and the happy tears.

Our hope is that it feels like friends who happen to bring cameras were with you all day, and that your gallery leaves you laughing, crying, and reminiscing all at once.

Send us a message with your wedding date, your city, and anything you're excited to share. We'll reply with some info and set up a relaxed video chat to talk all things wedding, photo, and film. No pressure at all.
If it feels like the right fit, we'll send you a booking link with a few questions about you and your day, along with our service agreement.
A 30% retainer secures your wedding date. For sessions, you'll see either a retainer or the full amount during the booking process.
From there, we've got you. We'll help with photography and/or videography timelines and planning, and you're welcome to ask us questions even if they have nothing to do with photo or video. We'd be glad to help.
Once your booking is complete, you'll receive a copy of our service agreement and a wedding questionnaire so we can learn more about your vision. There's no rush on the questionnaire, so answer whenever you can.
As your date gets closer, we'll reconnect to finalize everything. Your remaining balance is due on or before the wedding day, but we highly recommend settling it ahead of time so you don't have to think about anything on the day itself. You just enjoy.
When will we get our photos and films, and how?

Wedding season keeps us busy, and if your delivery is running behind, we will message you right away. You will never be left wondering where your photos and films are.
Everything will be delivered through one easy online gallery. Download your images and films in high resolution, share the link with your favourite people, and order prints right from the page. Your gallery stays online for one month, so be sure to download everything early.

Expect roughly 50 to 60 images for every hour of photography coverage, and more when a second photographer is on board.
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. For elopements and intimate weddings, it's usually not necessary. For larger weddings or days with a lot of moving parts, it can make a big difference.

Bonus: a second photographer/videographer tells a fuller story of your day and doubles as a built-in backup, which adds real peace of mind.

A few things may come into play:

Travel fees: Locations outside of Calgary include a travel fee.

Permits and entry fees: If your location requires either, the cost is added to your package.

Meals: If we're working through your meal service, we do need to be fed. For formal dinners, we ask to be seated in the same room so we don't miss speeches, happy tears, or spontaneous dance moves. The same goes for any additional team members you've added.

Overtime: If the celebration runs late and you'd like us to stay longer than booked, we'll invoice the extra time at an hourly rate after the wedding.

Yes, and yes. Every delivered image is carefully handpicked and edited by us, including selecting the best shots, adjusting color, cropping, and retouching where needed (so don't stress about that pimple). We keep our editing true to life, so we'll never airbrush you into plastic, but we will tidy up distractions so the focus stays on what matters.

We do! They're ordered separately through your online gallery. Choose from a curated collection of professional products, including archival prints, framed pieces, albums, thank you cards, and more. Everything is printed by a trusted professional lab in Canada, so your images look beautiful and last for decades.
You can design your own album with the built-in gallery tools, or we're happy to design one for you. We're big believers in printing your wedding photos, because images in an album or on your wall get loved, while images on a screen get buried.
Absolutely! You'll receive your final images in high resolution with full printing rights, so you can print wherever you like. We do recommend a professional photo lab for the best quality.
Your retainer is non-refundable because it holds your date and the time we've set aside for you. If you can't go ahead, you can transfer it to someone else, as long as you let us know at least 30 days before your event date.
If you cancel within 30 days of your event, the full payment is due.
Plans change, so you get one free date change. Just send us written notice at least 30 days before your original date, along with at least 2 alternative dates. We'll confirm a final date that works for us and your other booked vendors, and your retainer carries over. Any extra date changes after that may come with additional fees, which we'll decide case by case.
These are your memories, so share them everywhere you like, and tag us if you feel like it. If you'd like to use them for your business, ads, or anything commercial, just ask us first and we'll work out the details together.
